The first time I heard that word used in this type of non-sexual context, I was puzzled. I went home and looked up the definition: "obscene writings, drawings, photographs, or the like, esp. those having little or no artistic merit." Well, our stories are obscene. BUT it is the reality of what happened. I agree that this issue needs to be shoved in society's face until it exists no more. I think society is complicit in this crime by the mere fact they don't want to know what is happening. They don't want to know how our violent culture and child rearing practices contribute to the beating deaths of 5 children in the United States every day. Why would we possibly want to stop the stories of what these bastards did to us? I was abused and treated like a major piece of shit by the woman who I came from and I want it known. All the bullshit that happened needs to be exposed. Getting slapped, hit, spit on, hair pulled, punched, and tortured. Those are all horrible things that are even more gruesome when applied to little boys and girls. Our parents and caretakers were supposed to love us and what did they do? They fucked us and destroyed us. Society needs to be made aware that child abuse isnt just little Billy and Johnny or Sue getting spanked or swore at. Kids have there faces split open and skin torn off. Kids have boilng water poured on them and are tortured. They have their pets mutilated in front of them. In short, kids get destroyed. More media attention that's in your face needs to be done. Think PETA, you may not agree with them but you know about them. Child abuse needs angry activists. Stop it?
